The story of Zoey, a single mum and aspiring writer who finds the courage to leave a toxic relationship to pursue a dream of her own. Decided not to get tangled in another heartbreak she fends of all advances, but she finds true love in the most unexpected way when she gets hit with some unforeseen circumstances.
The movie is a normal Nollywood plot with love scenes and a bit of some comic relief. The actors were top-notch and their roles were delivered perfectly but the movie lacked a lot in terms of composition and set pieces. The scneses were all crumpled together in a kind of predictable way.
The comedy scenes were also a bit over-stressed and the director could have done better with her depiction of the romantic scenes and the emotionally abusive relationship in the flick.
So far so good, Lemonade would not be a bad pick for someone looking to relish a bit of Nigerian romance, but its best not to hope for too much.
