Chioma (played by Chigul) is threatened by some jobless aunties at a family member’s wedding to bring a man to the next family wedding. So with the help of Toyin and Toke, Chioma starts the hunt for Mr right.
This movie tells an important story, the societal pressure mounted on matured singles, infact, any single of marriageable age
The movie which aimed at being hilarious was a long shot from its comedic intentions. Even it’s “Comedy star-studded” cast could do little or nothing to save the film from a box office-cinema disaster. Makate Must Sell featured Josh 2 funny, Wofai Fada and Charles Okocha and all three of them may be funny individually, but a film cannot thrive based on individual comedy.
Chigurl is funny on her own, but side by side with Toke Makinwa, she is just a snooze fest. It’s audacious that Toke has made the foray into Nollywood but God knows she can’t act to save her life. Her role in the movie was entirely irrelevant.
Furthermore, all the Cliche characters such as the illiterate trader and an Igbo money-miss-road suitor that made appearances in Makate Must Sell were a bit too “overused” and their roles which was meant to bring life to the movie was actually exhausting and insufferable.
